Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool joined by European giants in race for Nigeria-eligible midfielder
Published: July 14, 2022Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa's young midfield sensation Carney Chukwuemeka but face competition for the talented midfielder's signature.
According to a report from Football365 via 90 min, the north Londoners who finished fifth in the Premier League standings last season alongside Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle United are interested in signing Chukwuemeka.
Abroad, European heavyweights Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Juventus have now joined Borussia Dortmund in looking to sign Chukwuemeka while Barcelona have been long-term admirers of the highly talented youngster.
Chukwuemeka, who was on target in the Under-19 European Championship final against Israel, was one of the Young Lions' outstanding player in the tournament.
Aston Villa are trying to persuade the youngster who has one year left on his present contract, to agree to new terms but their offers were rejected.
The promising young midfielder who started only two Premier League games for Aston Villa last season, whilst making a further ten appearances from the bench has grown dissatisfied with his limited playing time.
In addition to representing England, Chukwuemeka is eligible to represent Nigeria through his father and Austria through birth.
