Confirmed : Tottenham academy product Okedina inks new Cambridge United deal
Published: July 22, 2022Tottenham Hotspur academy product Jubril Okedina has committed his future to League One club Cambridge United by signing a new contract, the U's announced via their official website on Friday, July 22.
Okedina initially joined Cambridge United on loan from Tottenham in January 2021 and the deal was made permanent at the end of the season.
Overall, the centre-back is credited with fifty-six appearances for Cambridge United and was in action for 4,626 minutes.
His new contract will keep him at the Abbey Stadium until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
During his time at Tottenham Hotspur, Okedina wasn't handed his senior debut but was a key player for the youth teams, making appearances in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2, FA Youth Cup, UEFA Youth League and Papa John's Trophy.
Commenting on his new deal, Okedina told the official webpage of the Yellows : "I am very happy. I have had plenty of great moments here at Cambridge and I now look forward to creating more.
"I feel fresh, I feel fit and I feel ready to get the season going."
Okedina has been offered fresh terms by Cambridge United after showing his potential over the last eighteen months.
Cambridge United's first game of the 2022-2023 season is against Milton Keynes Dons on July 30.
