Exclusive : Airdrieonians beat four-time Scottish champions in race for Spanish-Nigerian striker

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Scottish League One club Airdrieonians are on the verge of confirming the signing of Spanish-Nigerian striker Bright Osemudiamen Prince Okosun.

Okosun, who turns seventeen in October 2022, has already put pen to paper on a one-year contract with the Diamonds following a successful trial.

Airdrieonians have pulled off a major transfer coup to land the services of the former Getafe youth teamer, seeing off competition from four-time Scottish champions Heart of Midlothian.

Hearts explored the possibility of signing Okosun but he turned down an invitation to train with the club before heading to Airdrieonians.

The promising teenager put himself in the shop window after winning the Player of the Match award at the U17 Central Scotland FA Regional Cup final between Summerston Youth F.C and Rossvale FC, scoring two goals and providing an assist to help Summerston win the competition.

He began his career in Spain with Yuncos CD and Getafe, before moving to Germany, where he played for VFR
Fischeln , Fortuna Dusseldorf and KFC Uerdingen.

Okosun has been likened to Villarreal's Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze due to his playing style.
