World Cup 2022 : Nigerians react as gallant Tunisia bow out despite beating holders France

The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia got a famous win over the defending champions of the FIFA World Cup, France on Wednesday evening.
Tunisia were 1-0 winners over the Les Blues led by Didier Deschamps, in a 2022 FIFA World Cup Group D matchday three encounter played at the Education City Stadium in Ar-Rayyan.
Tunisia, which was a former colony of France, got the win courtesy of a 58th minute strike from Montpelier forward Wahbi Khazri.
Atlético de Madrid star Antoine Griezmann leveled matters for the Europeans with a volleyed right footed shot but with the intervention of the video assistant referee, the goal was chalked off.
Despite the win, Tunisia failed to advance our of the group stages. They however finished in third place with four points from three group games.
Tunisia becomes the first African team to exit the quarterly global football competition.
Nigerians have come out in their numbers to praise their fellow Africans for their spirited display against powerhouse France.
