Moffi partners Messi in attack in Ligue 1 TOTW; OGC Nice striker joint highest rated player
Published: February 27, 2023
Terem Moffi has been included in the French Ligue 1 Team of the Week by celebrated sports newspaper L'Equipe on the back of his outstanding display in the last round of matches in the division.
In what was his fourth appearance for the Eaglets after his controversial transfer from Lorient on deadline day last month, the Nigeria international ended his mini-goal drought in style by bagging a brace and providing an assist as OGC Nice hammered Monaco 3-0 at the Stade Louis-II Stadium.
Moffi slotted into the bottom corner to open the scoring in the 8th minute after a ball over the top from Dante and doubled the advantage at minute 26 after a lovely through ball from Khéphren Thuram.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Moffi was partnered in attack by Argentina captain Lionel Messi, who also directly participated in three goals as PSG thrashed Marseille 3-0 at the Orange Vélodrome.
With a rating of 9, Moffi was the joint best rated player in the Team of the Week, alongside two-goal hero for PSG in their win versus Marseille, Kylian Mbappe.
The Super Eagle joined OGC Nice on a loan deal until end of the 2022-2023 season with an obligation to buy him from Lorient.
Moffi has made 91 appearances in the French topflight, scoring 36 goals, including fourteen this season.
