Norwich City striker receives Flying Eagles call-up after narrowly missing out on U20 AFCON
Published: April 26, 2023
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that the Flying Eagles coaching staff led by Ladan Bosso will take another look at Norwich City striker Kenny Coker ahead of the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup.
Coker is among the foreign-based professionals invited to attend a Nigeria U20 training camp in Abuja.
The 19-year-old trained with the Flying Eagles before the 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations but narrowly missed out on selection for the tournament held in Egypt.
It should be emphasized that Nigeria U20 boss Ladan Bosso didn't write him off and planned to check him out again before the U20 World Cup, and he has kept to his word by handing him another call-up.
Kenny's dad is famous Nigerian agent Michael Coker, who works for Stellar Group and attempted to broker a deal that would have taken Isaac Success to Manchester City in 2014, but the deal did not happen as the ex-Golden Eaglets sensation had already agreed terms with Udinese.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia to an English mom and Nigerian father, Kenny Coker is eligible to represent the Super Eagles, Three Lions and Stars and Stripes, but it appears Nigeria are now in pole position for his services.
Highlighting his strengths as a striker, Coker told allnigeriasoccer.com shortly after signing for Norwich City : "As a striker I like to get in behind and take players on, I can also hold the ball up well to link up with other players and winning headers is also a good part of my game."
