Arsenal dazzler risks missing out on Flying Eagles World Cup roster after late arrival in camp
Published: May 02, 2023
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that highly-rated Arsenal winger Joel Ideho risks missing out on the Flying Eagles roster for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina.
The former Ajax Amsterdam wonderkid reported for international duty on Monday and had his first training session with the rest of the invited players today, Tuesday.
As first reported by allnigeriasoccer.com a week ago, Ideho has finally renewed his Nigerian passport which expired in 2018, paving the way for him to be included in the provisional squad list for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup.
The Nigeria Football Federation have been in touch with Arsenal since April 18th, when Ideho's invitation letter was dispatched to the north London club, but the Gunners did not act on it until they were sent a reminder on April 28th, putting his chances of making the Flying Eagles final 21-man squad in jeopardy.
The truth is that Flying Eagles boss Ladan Bosso already has an idea of the players he would like to take to Argentina, as you might expect, and as of now Ideho does not appear to be in his plans unless he does something extraordinary within the next three days.
The Flying Eagles' players and officials are due to fly out to Argentina on Saturday, May 6, fifteen days before their opening Group D fixture against the Dominican Republic.
Ideho trained with the Flying Eagles before the 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations but wasn't on the plane to Egypt because he did not have a valid travel document.
