On-loan Gunner Ejeheri keeps his fourth clean sheet in five games for SJK
Published: May 15, 2023
Arsenal loanee Ovie Ejeheri was impressive again as SJK Seinäjoki continued their unbeaten streak in the Finnish Veikkausliiga season with a 1-0 win over Ilves Tampere this past weekend.
SJK Seinäjoki are the only undefeated team in the new season, having won four games and drawn two - their joint best start to season which was first achieved in the 2012 campaign.
Jaime Moreno placed the ball into the bottom corner to open the scoring for SJK twenty minutes into the contest, which ended up being the only goal of the game.
Five minutes before halftime, Ejeheri made a pointblank save to deny Santeri Haarala from restoring parity.
And the Hale End Academy product was called into action again with ten minutes left on the clock when he easily saved a shot from Yusif Moussa.
Ejeheri has been particularly impressive after initially struggling when he arrived at SJK Seinäjoki.
The 2023 Flying Eagles invitee conceded seven goals in four appearances in the Liigacup, a pre-season competition, but has conceded two goals in his first six matches in the Veikkausliiga, keeping four clean sheets in the process.
Only Inter Turku's Tommi Jyry has managed to score against Ejeheri in his last five games in the league.
