American-born Nigerian attacker Eduvie Ikoba has revealed that Napoli star Victor Osimhen is the Nigerian player who has impressed him the most the season.
Ikoba has had a banner season too, registering a career high thirteen goals in all competitions for Hungarian Cup winners Zalaegerszegi TE FC.
The 25-year-old is rumoured to be on the radar of Glasgow Celtic and Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart on the back of his fine form.
Nigeria have top strikers who have been firing on all cylinders this season, such as Odion Ighalo, Victor Osimhen, Terem Moffi, Yusuf Otubanjo, Chuba Akpom and Josh Maja.
When Ikoba was asked to reveal the Nigerian player who has impressed him the most this season, he mentioned Osimhen who has mustered 28 goals in all competitions for Serie A champions Napoli.
"I really like watching Victor Osimhen and the success he’s had in Europe this season," Ikoba said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
"I’m also a striker, so it’s exciting to see another Nigerian having success at the highest levels of competition."
A dual national by virtue of being born in the United States to Nigerian parents, Ikoba hopes to play for the Super Eagles and highlighted the quality he can bring to the national team if handed a call-up.
"It has always been a dream of mine to play international football. The Nigerian team is full of talented players, especially in the attack, so it would be a huge accomplishment to be among that list.
"I’m confident in my ability and my versatility as a striker, so I’m sure I’d be able to bring that to any team I join," Ikoba concluded.
