'Have already expressed their opinion' - Agent reveals Italian-Nigerian is going to Tottenham
Published: June 26, 2023
Stefano Antonelli, who looks after Destiny Udogie, has confirmed that the Italian-Nigerian left-back will be a player of Tottenham Hotspur in the 2023-2024 season.
The Verona native joined the Lilywhites from Udinese in August 2022 but was immediately loaned back to the Bianconeri to continue his development.
Udogie had an outstanding season at Udinese with three goals and four assists in 33 outings in the Serie A.
Antonelli has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have made a decision on the future of Udogie and the talented defender is expected to link up with his new teammates at the Londoners after the 2023 European U21 Championship.
He added that his client has the qualities to play for the top clubs in the Italian Serie A but decided to join Tottenham Hotspur.
"He's going to Tottenham who have changed management and have already expressed their opinion on Udogie," Antonelli said to Radio CRC, via linterista.
"He would be a player from Naples as he would be for Roma or Inter for example."
Udogie has played for all the Italy age groups, from U16 to U21, and is currently on international duty at the U21 Euro, where he started the opening group game played by the Little Blues.
Antonelli reckons that the Super Eagles-eligible player is destined to turn out for Italy's senior national team but the decision lies with Roberto Mancini.
"Everyone takes it for granted that he will go to the senior national team after the European Championship. Today I think it belongs to him, but Mancini will decide it, " he concluded.
