Chelsea about to make an enquiry for Nigeria national teamer
Published: June 26, 2023Premier League giants Chelsea are set to step up their pursuit of Nigeria international Victor Osimhen.
According to the Daily Mail making reference to Italian journalist Massimo Marianella who told Sky Sport Italia that Chelsea will be picking up the phone to speak to Napoli about Osimhen.
The Partenopei striker is on the radar of the London-based club as they seek to bolster their attack ahead of next season.
The Blues suffered in front of goal last season with Kai Havertz who is on the verge of joining Arsenal being their top scorer with 9 goals in all competitions which is miles away from Osimhen's 31 goals for Napoli last season.
While Chelsea look set to suffer a heavy financial loss due to their non-participation in Europe, they have embarked on the sale of players to raise funds for the acquisition of players in this transfer window.
The task of getting Osimhen will not be easy for Mauricio Pochettino's side as rival clubs Manchester United and Liverpool have also been reported to be interested in his services while Bayern Munich and PSG are also keenly interested.
Besides, the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner has been valued at 150 million euros which will make him one of the most expensive players in history If he leaves Napoli this summer.
