Senegal captain gives transfer advice to PSG, Man Utd, Chelsea-linked striker Osimhen
Published: June 27, 2023
Senegal's captain Kalidou Koulibaly has advised Napoli star Victor Osimhen to be careful in determining his future.
Osimhen's future is one of the talking points in this transfer window as he has been linked with European giants Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 24-year-old won the Serie Best Young Player of the Year Award in the 2021/2022 season and he built upon that success last season as he was named best striker in the Italian top-flight.
The Super Eagles forward bagged 31 goals in all competitions last season, the most of all Nigerian players playing in the top 5 leagues in Europe and his clinical trait in front of goal has endeared him to the clubs earlier mentioned.
Koulibaly was a teammate of Osimhen for two seasons before he left Napoli for Chelsea and is aware of the talent of the lanky forward.
The Senegalese center back heaped praises on Osimhen and advised him to determine his future independently of others.
"Victor is an important player, among the best in the world," Koulibaly said to Corriere dello Sport.
"Gennaro Gattuso helped him, Luciano Spalletti was a turning point for him and now he needs nobody.
"He must feel free to choose without listening to anyone else. That's the only way not to have regrets."
Osimhen has been valued at 150 million euros, the highest valuation of any Nigerian footballer in history.
