Celtic not currently pursing a deal for Leicester City's Super Eagles midfielder
Published: June 27, 2023Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are not currently pursuing a deal for Leicester City star Wilfred NdidI, according to reports.
Football Scotland says Celtic do not consider Ndidi as a serious transfer target for this transfer window.
Per the report, the Hoops are considering the acquisition of a defensive midfielder this summer but have not identified the 52-cap Nigeria international as a target.
The 26-year-old had been linked with the Hoops following the reappointment of former Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers as their boss.
The reports had suggested that Rodgers would like to reunite with his former player but the claim has now been debunked.
Ndidi joined Leicester City in 2017, two years before Rodgers' appointment as the Foxes' manager and has established himself as one of the finest defensive midfielders in the Premier League.
He has appeared in 237 matches for Leicester City across all competitions, scoring eleven goals.
The Nath Boys product has one year left on his contract and Leicester City could be open to selling him this summer.
