Premier League's youngest debutant agrees two new deals with Arsenal
Published: June 29, 2023British transfer market expert David Ornstein has provided an update on the future of England U17 international of Nigerian descent, Ethan Nwaneri at Arsenal.
The celebrated Athletic UK reporter has exclusively reported (subscription required) that Nwaneri has committed his future to Arsenal by agreeing two new deals.
The 16-year-old is signing scholarship forms with Arsenal and agreed to a professional deal for when he turns 17 in March 2024.
The latest update from Ornstein has put an end to speculation linking Nwaneri with a departure from the Emirates Stadium.
The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have suffered a blow in their pursuit of the attacking midfielder with the talented teenager extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium.
Nwaneri wrote his name into the history books as the youngest-ever player to feature in the Premier League when he made his senior debut at Brentford on September 18, 2022 aged 15 years and 181 days, beating the record held by Harvey Elliott.
The Anglo-Nigerian wonderkid was aged 14 years and 44 days when he made his U18 Premier League debut against Reading on May 4, 2021 and played his first game in the Premier League 2 against Blackburn Rovers aged 15 years and 166 days.
Ornstein has stressed that Nwaneri, who has been an Arsenal supporter since he was a boy having grown up in Islington, never had any intention of leaving the Gunners and turned down more lucrative offers to stay.
