Talented teenage left-back eligible for Nigeria, Egypt and England signs new Arsenal deal
Published: June 29, 2023Premier League giants Arsenal are set to announce their new intake of academy scholars for the 2023-2024 season, with at least three Golden Eaglets players part of the group.
As previously reported, history-making midfielder Ethan Nwaneri and striker Daniel Oyetunde have agreed scholarship deals with the north London club.
The third teenager of Nigerian descent who has signed scholarship forms at Arsenal is talented fullback Camron Ismail, allnigeriasoccer.com has been told.
The tri-national defender is eligible to represent Nigeria and Egypt through his father and mother respectively, as well as England.
Ismail is highly rated by the Arsenal youth team coaches and the fact that the left-back made his competitive debuts for the U18s and development squad while still a schoolboy is a testament to his abilities.
Just like Tyron Akpata (West Ham United) and Joshua Adepoju (MK Dons), Ismail joined Arsenal at U15 level after he was spotted playing in an Elite Development Academy Soccer shop window..
In his final season as a schoolboy, Ismail played six games in the U18 Premier League, and also made appearances in the U18 Premier League Cup, Premier League Cup and Premier League International Cup.
Arsenal U18s, under the guidance of club legend Jack Wilshere, trained at London Colney on Thursday, with Ismail, goalkeeper Brian Okonkwo and Oyetunde involved in the session.
