Super Eagles striker to join Rangers on four-year deal subject to medical
Published: July 03, 2023Nigeria international Cyriel Dessers is set to sign a four-year contract with Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers.
This was made known by Daily Record which also added that a medical has been scheduled for the completion of the Cremonese striker's move to Ibrox.
As earlier revealed, Cremonese have reached an agreement with Rangers for the transfer of the Nigerian striker after prolonged discussions between both sides.
The 26-year-old will become Rangers' sixth signing this summer having previously completed the signings of Jack Butland, Kieran Dowell, Sam Lammers, Dujon Sterling and Abdallah Sima..
The former Genk forward failed to hit the ground running for Cremonese in the Serie A last season but has a good goal-scoring track record.
He was named the Eredivisie top scorer in the 2019/2020 season while donning the colours of Heracles Almelo and was the top scorer in the UEFA Europa League in the 2021/2022 season while playing on loan with Feyenoord.
Rangers are hoping to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title and also qualify for the Champions League group stage next season and they would be hoping that Dessers finds his goalscoring boots again in Scotland.
