Israeli Ligat Ha'al club Hapoel Petah Tikva are working on a deal to sign Nigerian striker Fortune Bassey.

According to One, Hapoel Petah Tikva are in advanced talks with Fortune Bassey who is owned by Ferencváros and currently on loan at Swedish Allsvenskan club Degerfors.

Hapoel Petah Tikva want to bolster their attack with a foreign striker and the Nigerian fits the bill.

Bassey began last season at Ferencváros before joining Viktoria Plzeň on loan last August and then transferred to Degerfors in March.

The 24-year-old has made eleven appearances for Degerfors without opening his goal scoring account for the Swedish topflight team.

He made five appearances in the group stage of last season's Champions League, featuring against European powerhouses Barcelona and Bayern Munich twice each and Inter Milan once.

On his curriculum vitae, Bassey has also played for Bohemians 1905, Olympia Radotín, České Budějovice and Vlašim.

He has entered the last one year of his contract at Ferencváros.
