Confirmed: Onetime Chelsea defender Omeruo returns to Kasimpasa for third spell
Published: July 27, 2023
With a press release published on their official website, Turkish Super Lig side Kasımpaşa have confirmed the signing of onetime Chelsea central defender Kenneth Omeruo.
Kasımpaşa have not disclosed the length and financial terms of Omeruo's contract.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported on July 19, 2023 that Omeruo had given his word that he would be returning for a third spell at Turkish Super Lig club Kasımpaşa S.K. this summer.
The Super Eagles star has turned down a lucrative offer from a Saudi Pro League club in favour of returning to the Turkish Super Lig.
Omeruo put pen to paper on a contract that binds him to Kasimpasa at the signing ceremony held at the club's Turgay Ciner Sports Facilities after passing a medical examination he had at Liv Hospital Vadi Istanbul.
The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles defender enjoyed two loan spells at Kasımpaşa during his time at Chelsea, making 54 appearances for the Istanbul club.
He has logged 79 appearances in the Turkish topflight for two different clubs, with 26 coming in the colours of Alanyaspor in the 2016-2017 season.
Spanish LaLiga 2 outfit CD Leganes have parted company with Omeruo with a year to run on his contract.
