'The goal he scored against Man Utd' - Chukwueze names Kaka his favourite AC Milan player
Published: July 28, 2023Samuel Chukwueze has left Villarreal after six years and joined Italian powerhouse AC Milan.
The 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup star made his senior debut for Villarreal in a Europa League match against Rangers and totaled 207 appearances in all competitions, registering 37 goals and 31 assists before ending his association with the Yellow Submarine.
Several great players such as Paolo Maldini, Carlo Ancelotti, Ruud Gullit, Andrea Pirlo, Alessandro Costacurta, Franco Baresi, George Weah and Ricardo Kaká have represented the Rossoneri in the past.
From the legendary players who have represented AC Milan, Chukwueze has picked Kaka as his favorite player and remembers the goal scored by the Brazilian in a Champions League semifinal game against Manchester United at Old Trafford in 2007.
Gabriel Heinze collided with Patrice Evra as he attempted to prevent Kaka from finding the net in the 37th minute.
Speaking to Milan TV shortly after his transfer was confirmed, Chukwueze said: "When I was a child, I only looked at Ricardo Kaká. The goal he scored in the Champions League against Manchester United when he headed the ball and the defenders collided, it was incredible.
"I think Ricardo Kaká was one of the best players I loved in AC Milan because he was fantastic, he was good actually.
"When I watch some of his YouTube clips I saw all the amazing things he did in an AC Milan shirt. He was an amazing player".
Chukwueze, who has been allocated the number 21 shirt, has signed a five-year deal with AC Milan.
