Arsenal's Hale End product Chuba Akpom has insisted that he's not demanding huge wages to extend his contract with Championship club Middlesbrough.
Speculation has been rife about his future at the Riverside Stadium since the start of this year, with his contract set to expire a the end of the 2023-2024 season.
In addition, several clubs in England and abroad are monitoring the situation of the Super Eagles hopeful after an outstanding season that saw him win several individual awards.
Akpom scooped the Championship Player of the Season at the EFL awards and was named in the division's Team of the Season, and also claimed Boro's Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year.
The former Arsenal striker capped off a banner season by winning the Championship Golden Boot after scoring 28 goals in 38 appearances in the second tier of English football.
Middlesbrough are keen to tie Akpom down to a new deal and negotiations between the club and the player's agent has been ongoing but the parties have yet to strike an agreement.
According to a report on social media, it has been claimed that the numbers being requested by Chuba Akpom and his agent during contract negotiations are way beyond what Middlesbrough would be willing to pay, something which has been disputed by the Boro number 29.
Responding to the post, Akpom stated: "Not true".
