With a statement on their official website, Crotone have announced that former Inter Milan youth teamer Theophilus Awua has been loaned out to Serie A outfit Atalanta for the remainder of the 2023-2024 season.
The right of option and/or obligation to buy have been included in the loan deal taking him to Atalanta.
Awua initially joined Crotone on loan in January 2022 before returning to the club for a second loan with an obligation to buy in June 2022.
Crotone congratulated Theo on the recent birth of his child and wished him good luck in his new adventure at Atalanta.
The 25-year-old reunites with former Crotone manager Francesco Modesto, who is currently coaching Atalanta U23s.
He registered two goals and two assists in fifty appearances for Crotone, logging 3,257 minutes in total.
The Makurdi-born player enjoyed loan spells at Inter Milan, Juve Stabia, Rende, Bari, Livorno, Cittadella and Pro Vercelli during his time at Spezia.
Awua links up with Super Eagles midfielder Ademola Lookman and Italy U21 international of Nigerian descent Caleb Okoli at Atalanta.
