Super Falcons camp update: Blessing Nkor, 8 others report for duty before Comoros showdown

Nine players have arrived at the Super Falcons camp in Ikenne as the Nigerian women's national team commenced preparations for their 2028 Olympic qualifier against Comoros in October.

Interim manager Augustine Eguavoen had earlier invited 28 players for the two-legged encounter following the team's disappointing outing at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

The underwhelming campaign also saw the Super Falcons miss out on qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup for the first time in the country's history.

According to a post on the team's social media platforms, Farida AbdulWahab, Tumininu Adeshina, Joy Igbokwe, Fatimoh Solaty, Christiana Uzoma, Blessing Nkor, Valentina Uroko, Glory Edet and Sandra John have reported to camp.

Several key players, including Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala, Ashleigh Plumptre and Monday Gift, are expected to join the squad during the week.

The Super Falcons will host Comoros in the first leg of the Olympic qualifier on Friday, October 9, with the return leg scheduled to take place four days later.

Eguavoen will be hoping his side can make a positive start to the qualification campaign and put their recent disappointment behind them.
