Super Eagles-eligible midfielder on his way to Portsmouth on loan from Chelsea
Published: August 30, 2023
Portsmouth are close to signing Chelsea midfielder of Nigeria descent Faustino Anjorin.
According to Football.London, the Cobham Product is on the verge of joining the former Premier League club on a loan deal until January 2024.
The talented midfielder attracted interest from the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and Scotland clubs but Chelsea want him to remain in England.
John Mousinho's side sit seventh in the table after five rounds of matches in the English League One and will be hoping the Anglo-Nigerian midfielder improves the fortune of his side with the addition.
Anjorin has struggled to get his career going due to incessant injuries which is also a factor that has halted his development.
The 21-year-old spent the whole of last season on loan at Championship outfit Huddersfield but could only manage nine appearances.
With his imminent move to Fratton Park, the former England youth international will hope he can finally get his career back on track.
