Drama on deadline day: The real reason Tosin's proposed move to Monaco fell through
Published: September 02, 2023Contrary to reports, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Tosin Adarabioyo's proposed move to Monaco falling through on deadline day had nothing to do with the French Ligue 1 club not meeting his valuation.
Tosin was linked with possible moves to the Principality club as well as Tottenham Hotspur but the central defender favored a switch to France over remaining in the Premier League and even acquired a Nigerian passport to smooth things out.
This website can report with certainty that Tosin couldn't complete his transfer to Monaco in the end because the Cottagers didn't have a replacement lined up for him, so they pulled the plug on the deal.
Monaco made a final offer of €12 million for Tosin plus three million euros in performance-related add-ons but there was no reaction at all from Fulham on Friday as they didn't have a replacement for the Nigerian.
The Manchester City academy product was training away from the Fulham first team ahead of a potential departure from Craven Cottage.
It is envisaged that Tosin will be reintegrated into Fulham's first team set-up after his failed move to Monaco.
Of the four games played by the Cottagers in the new season, manager Marco Silva has named him in only one matchday squad, bringing him on in the 89th minute to shore up the defence in the impressive 2-2 draw at Arsenal last weekend.
Tosin started 27 games from a possible 44 in all competitions during the 2022-2023 season.
