Atalanta's top assister Lookman, two other players of Nigerian descent named in Serie A TOTW
Published: April 23, 2024Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman, Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee and Lecce fullback Patrick Dorgu have been named in Whoscored.com's Serie A Team of the Week following their impressive performances in the last round of matches in the division.
While the Nigeria international wasn't on the scoresheet, he was involved in Atalanta's two goals, providing the assists for the goals netted by Charles De Ketelaere and El Bilal Touré.
By registering two assists in the game, he took his goal involvements to 14 for the season and has become the fifth player in the Serie A to register more than 20 goals and 10 assists since the start of the last campaign.
Lookman is Atalanta's top assister in the Serie A this term with six in twenty-six appearances, an honour he shares with Charles De Ketelaere.
With a rating of 8.66, the former Everton winger was the second highest rated player in the Team of the Week, with Lecce's Antonino Gallo being the highest with a score of 8.81.
Super Eagles-eligible striker Joshua Zirkzee who has been heavily linked with Arsenal of late was also named in the team following his two-goal involvements in Bologna's 3-1 win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday night.
The 22-year-old grabbed his side's second of the night and set up the third goal with a precise pass to continue his impressive form this season and help Bologna's quest for a finish in the top four.
Similarly, Danish-Nigerian fullback Patrick Dorgu also featured in the team having starred for Lecce in their 3-0 away win at Sassuolo on Sunday, bagging a goal in the encounter to record his first goal in the Serie A since February and his second of the season.
