Tottenham make move to beat Manchester United to signing of English-born Nigerian star
Published: April 27, 2024Tottenham have intensified their efforts to sign English-born Nigerian star Tosin Adarabioyo in the summer.
According to TEAMTalk, the North London club have made a tempting offer to the Fulham centre back in a bid to beat Manchester United and other suitors to his signature.
Tottenham want to bolster their central defensive department in the coming transfer window as the squad lacks depth in the particular department.
Ange Postecoglou has had to play fullbacks Emerson Royal and Ben Davies in that position when the club's natural center backs got injured some time this season.
They signed Radu Drăgușin in the January transfer window and will now like to sign more center backs in the summer particularly as they are seeking to participate in the either the UEFA Champions League or Europa League next season.
The 26-year-old Tosin has decided to leave Craven Cottage upon the completion of this season and will be free to join any club of his choice when the transfer window opens.
With the Manchester City Academy product set to become a free agent, clubs interested in his services will have to persuade him cleverly to grab his signature.
The Anglo-Nigerian defender is having a stellar campaign with Fulham and has been one of the first names in the starting lineup since he recovered from his injury crisis earlier on in the campaign.
