PL Int'l Cup final: Eberechi Eze in attendance as Umeh scores game-winner for Crystal Palace v PSV

Franco Umeh helped Crystal Palace scoop the Premier League international Cup by scoring the only goal in their 1-0 victory over PSV in the final of the tournament played on Wednesday night.

In attendance Selhurst Park were first team coach, Oliver Gasner, Eberechi Eze and a host of first team players.

Head coach Darren Powell, named four Nigeria-eligible players in the starting lineup which included Crystal Palace's youngest Premier League debutant David Uzoh.

Other players named in the starting XI were Franco Umeh, Eyimofe Jemide, and Ademola Ola-Adebomi while Victor Akinwale was named among the substitutes.

Crystal Palace had a slow start with goalkeeper Joe Whitworth making crucial saves to deny PSV from opening the scoring.

Umeh and Adebomi had chances to give the young Eagles the lead in the first half but their efforts were not on target before the former finally found the back of the net.

In the 67th minute, Ozoh won the the ball brilliantly in the PSV half, he passed to Rashaun Mathurin who drove a pass into the feet of Umeh and with the help of a deflected shot, the Irish-Nigerian forward scored.

Two minutes later, Powell was forced to make his first substitute as Adebomi was forced to come off for Dylan Reid.

PSV pushed for the equalizer but the home side held on to win their first ever Premier League international Cup.

By winning the trophy, they became the first English side to win the tournament since its inception.
