Official: Crewe Alexandra offer new deal to promising defender Rio Adebisi
Published: May 21, 2024
Following the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season, Crewe Alexandra have announced the list of players to be retained and released.
The Railwaymen suffered playoff heartbreak, losing 2-0 to Crawley Town in the Sky Bet League Two playoff final at Wembely on Sunday.
One of the players that went the distance in the final, Rio Adebisi has been offered fresh terms to extend his stay at Gresty Road..
The promising fullback was a very important player for Crewe Alexandra in the recently concluded season, having started every single game contested by the club, forty-six in total, in the fourth tier of English football.
Adebisi made a further three starts apiece in the Emirates FA Cup and League Two playoffs, and played in two matches in the Carabao Cup.
The 23-year-old offers versatility as he is capable of playing at left-back, right-back, right wing-back and left wing-back.
Adebisi has played nonstop at the Railwaymen since signing schoolboy forms at the age of twelve.
Born in London to an English mother and Nigerian father, Adebisi has committed his international future to the three-time African champions.
Adebisi has totaled 136 appearances for Crewe Alexandra since making his first team in a League Cup tie against Aston Villa in August 2019.
