Euro 2024: Nigeria legend Sunday Oliseh picks Man City's Spain CM as MVP of the tournament so far

Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has named Spain midfielder Rodri as the Best player at the 2024 European championship, so far.
The Manchester City talisman put up another impressive shift as Spain defeated host country Germany 2-1 in the first quarterfinal game played on Friday evening.
Dani Olmo gave the 2010 world champions the lead in the 51st minute before Florian Wirtz drew level for Germany a minute before the end of the normal regulation time to take the game into extra time.
Mikel Merino would bag the winning goal a minute before the end of extra time from Olmo's precise cross to send La Roja into the semifinal.
Rodri featured for the entire duration of the game and was handed the captain armband after Alvaro Morata was taken off to end the game as his side's skipper.
The 28-year-old ended the game with 92 touches of the ball, completed 94% of his passes, won nine of 16 ground duels he contested.
Reacting his performance after Spain defeated Germany, Oliseh wrote on X : "For me, the MVP of the Euros,so far, Rodri !! I never seen a Spanish central defensive midfielder interpret this role in this way. Sad for my German friends who put up a great fight, but Spain is really special!! The Spanish dominate play with youngsters & tactics!"
Rodri has started four games so far at the 2024 European Championship and has scored one goal which was the equalizer in their victory over Georgia in the round of 16 where they had to come from a goal down to win 4-1.
