Gift Orban not joining Botafogo, not in talks with Lyon over transfer at the moment amid Colorado Rapids links
Published: July 20, 2024
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that rumors at home and abroad suggesting that Gift Orban has been declared surplus to requirements at French Ligue 1 club Lyon are wide of the mark.
There are claims that Orban could slip down the pecking order of forwards at Lyon following the club's permanent acquisition of Guinea-Bissau national teamer Mama Baldé from Troyes and the arrival of Georgia's 2024 European Championship star Georges Mikautadze.
Lyon also have in their ranks marquee striker and France's Olympic national team captain Alexandre Lacazette.
It has been claimed that Lyon are considering loaning Orban to Brazilian Serie A outfit Botafogo or Major League Soccer outfit Colorado Rapids
Allnigeriasoccer.com can report without a doubt that Orban and his camp have had no contact whatsoever with the 21-time
Campeonato Carioca champions and the Brazilian club have never been a topic of interest.
At this very moment, the 2023 Super Eagles invitee has not held discussions with Lyon over leaving the club in the summer transfer window.
Having said that, the former Gent goal poacher has not totally ruled out a departure from Lyon if the right opportunity presents itself.
The 22-year-old joined Lyon in the January transfer window for a fee of fourteen million euros.
In the second half of last season, he played in sixteen matches across all competitions and scored three goals.
