Confirmed team news: Ex-Crystal Palace dazzler Victor Moses in line to make Luton Town debut at Millwall
Published: September 14, 2024Crystal Palace academy product Victor Moses is in line to make his debut for Luton Town on Saturday afternoon when they take on Millwall at The Den.
The former Super Eagles winger completed a transfer to the Hatters four days ago, joining them as a free agent following the expiration of his contract at Spartak Moscow.
While Kelechi Nwakali had to wait for a work permit before completing his move to Barnsley, Moses wasted no time and began training with his new Luton Town teammates almost as soon as his transfer was announced.
Having represented England at U16, U17, U19, and U21 levels, Moses holds a British passport, meaning he doesn't need a work permit to play in England.
Speaking at Friday's pre-match press conference, Hatters manager Rob Edwards explained that the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner will surely be named in the traveling squad to the English capital for the game against Millwall.
However, Edwards warned that fans should not expect anything too soon from the former Crystal Palace dazzler, given that he has not played competitively for close to four months, with his last appearance coming against Rubin Kazan in a Russian Premier League match on May 19, 2024.
In quotes relayed by Luton Town's official website, Edwards told reporters: "He’s fit, he’s available but we want to integrate him in the right way".
Victor Moses has Championship experience, having made 58 appearances in the division as a Crystal Palace player.
