Jordon Ibe: Liverpool alum who turned down approach from ex-Nigeria coach Oliseh joins new club
Published: October 08, 2024Allnigeriasoccer.com can report exclusively with certainty that Liverpool alum Jordon Ibe has ended his search for a new club, after agreeing terms to join Isthmian League South Central Division club Hayes & Yeading United F.C.
Hayes & Yeading United are set to confirm the capture of the free agent in the coming days if not hours.
The former England U21 international put pen to paper on a contract last night after impressing the coaching staff while on trial at Hayes & Yeading United.
Ibe's qualities left the Hayes & Yeading United players he trained with in awe, and they described him as the standout player in the squad.
The forward had been unemployed since April 2024 following his release by National League side Ebbsfleet United, where he made one appearance after joining them last October.
Ibe was approached by former Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh to play for the Super Eagles in September 2015, but the winger declined the opportunity, saying he was giving priority to a Three Lions call-up.
He boasts an impressive CV, having played for Premier League clubs Liverpool and Bournemouth, along with Derby County, Wycombe Wanderers and Birmingham City.
Ibe featured in 58 games for Liverpool across the Premier League, Europa League, League Cup and FA Cup, and made 92 appearances for Bournemouth, contributing to 14 goals (5 goals and 9 assists).
Hayes & Yeading United will take on Ascot United in the league on Tuesday evening and it remains to be seen whether Ibe will make his debut for his new employer at the SKYex Community Stadium.
