'I don't care whether I score' - Red-hot striker Osimhen just wants Galatasaray to beat Besiktas

Galatasaray's star striker Victor Osimhen has sent a clear message ahead of the highly anticipated derby against Beşiktaş: his focus is solely on securing victory, not individual glory.

Osimhen has either scored or assisted in every game he has played for Galatasaray since joining them last month, tallying three goals and five assists in six all-competition appearances. 

In the club's last Super Lig encounter, he came off the bench in Galatasaray's 3-0 win over Antalyaspor, scoring the game's third goal with an astonishing overhead kick from 2.32 meters. 

This feat placed him second in history, behind Cristiano Ronaldo's 2.38-meter overhead kick goal.

The 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup winner's comments come on the heels of Galatasaray's thrilling 4-3 win over Elfsborg in the Europa League. 

The Nigerian striker, who recently returned from a thigh injury, acknowledged the derby's toughness but expressed confidence in his team's preparation.

Speaking with Beyaz TV in quotes relayed by Turkish outlet NTV Spor, the 25-year-old emphasized his team's collective ambition, saying, "Of course I think the Beşiktaş match will be tough. But we are ready and will give it our all. We want to get the 3 points.

"I don't care whether I score against Beşiktaş or not.

"I just want to win. The team wants to win too. I think we are ready."

The Ultimate Strikers Academy product's impressive start to life at Galatasaray has been a continuation of his exceptional form. 

His ability to adapt quickly and make decisive contributions has already made him a key figure in Galatasaray's squad.
