The Super Eagles will seek a second straight win when they face Guinea-Bissau in Tuesday’s 2027 AFCON qualifier after both teams won their opening Group L fixtures.
Playing away in Bissau, Nigeria must stay defensively disciplined and contain the Djurtus’ key attacking threats.
Mama Baldé is one of the biggest threats Nigeria will need to contain. The Brest forward combines pace, direct running and physical strength and can operate from the wing or through the middle. He scored Guinea-Bissau's second goal in the 2-0 victory over Tanzania, finishing from inside the box after being played through by Dálcio Gomes.
Franculino Djú is another major attacking threat. The young forward possesses the ability to carry the ball forward and shoot from distance, qualities he demonstrated against Tanzania when he opened the scoring with a left-footed strike from outside the box. Beto provided the assist for the goal.
Beto brings a strong physical presence to the Guinea-Bissau attack and can use his strength to hold up the ball and create opportunities for teammates. The Fiorentina forward also showed his creative ability by providing the assist for Djú's opening goal against Tanzania.
Dálcio Gomes is another player Nigeria must monitor closely. The APOEL midfielder offers energy, passing ability and attacking support from midfield. He also provided the assist for Baldé's goal against Tanzania, highlighting his ability to create openings in the final third.
Renato Nhaga is another midfielder Nigeria will need to monitor closely. The 19-year-old Galatasaray player combines technical ability with energy and composure in possession, making him a promising option in Guinea-Bissau’s midfield.
