Official: AS Trencin confirm Emmanuel Uchegbu has joined MLS club Charlotte FC

Through official channels, Slovak First Football League club AS Trencin have announced that Nigerian forward Emmanuel Uchegbu has joined Major League Soccer club Charlotte FC.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported six days ago that the GBS Academy product put pen to paper on a multi-year contract with Charlotte FC following a successful medical in Europe.
Charlotte FC have officially confirmed that Uchegbu has signed an MLS NEXT Pro contract through the 2028 season, with a club option for the 2029 season.
The 20-year-old will start his Charlotte career with the reserve team, Crown Legacy FC and is expected to remain with the feeder team for at least six months.
Uchegbu joined AS Trenčín in the summer of 2023, initially playing for the U19 team before earning a place in the senior team due to his impressive performances
He appeared in 33 matches across all competitions for AS Trencin, scoring five goals and producing three assists.
In his farewell message to AS Trencin, Uchegbu stated: "I am very grateful to AS Trencin for the opportunity it gave me as a young player.
"I must express my immense gratitude to the coaches, the management team, all the employees and, last but not least, the fans of AS Trencin.
"You have been my support throughout my entire career. I will miss you, my friends. AS Trencin, goodbye."
Uchegbu was a member of the Flying Eagles squad to the 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt, where he featured in three matches.
He started his professional career in Nigeria with Ifeanyi Ubah FC during the 2020-2021 season, recording nine appearances with one goal and one assist before transferring to NPFL side Plateau United FC in September 2021.
