'We told you before' - Transfer guru reveals major update on Ademola Lookman's future
Published: April 18, 2025
Transfer market expert Matteo Moretto has delivered a major update on the future of Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman, stating with full confidence that the Atalanta star will leave the club at the end of the season.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year has enjoyed an impressive spell in Bergamo since arriving from RB Leipzig, becoming one of the most exciting and consistent performers in the Serie A.
His growing list of admirers includes top-flight clubs from Italy, England and Spain.
The likes of Juventus, Napoli, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Barcelona have been credited with an interest in the former Everton forward.
"We told you before that he would leave Atalanta with a 99% chance: now we can say that he will do it with a 100% chance!" Matteo Moretto said on Fabrizio Romano's YouTube channel.
"There are many clubs in Serie A and the Premier League that want him but be careful of some Spanish leads.
"He might not be the only one to say goodbye to Atalanta: Ederson could also leave."
Lookman's potential departure from Atalanta is not linked to his feud with manager Gian Piero Gasperini following a missed penalty in a Champions League match versus Club Brugge, as a gentleman's agreement had already been in place for him to leave the Bergamo club at the end of the 2024–2025 season.
He has 74 goal contributions (50 goals, 24 assists) in 113 appearances for Atalanta and has been named the club's Player of the Season in back-to-back campaigns.
Lookman has a contract until June 30, 2026, with Atalanta retaining the right to trigger a one-year extension.
