Getafe's Uche tops Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr and Bellingham, other La Liga stars in key offensive stat
Published: April 26, 2025
Getafe midfielder Christantus Uche leads La Liga in fouls won, outshining Real Madrid duo Vinícius Junior and Jude Bellingham, as well as other top players, in this key offensive statistic in the 2024–2025 season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Super Eagles hopeful is averaging 2.17 fouls per game after thirty matches played in the Spanish top-flight.
Uche has suffered 65 fouls so far this season, edging Vinícius Junior by one
Completing the top six most fouled players in the division are Girona's Yangel Herrera (59), Real Sociedad's Takefusa Kubo (58), Osasuna's Aimar Oroz (57) and Los Blancos' England young sensation Jude Bellingham (56).
Uche's fearless play, quick feet and relentless drive have been vital to Getafe’s success, as he continues to prove week after week that he can compete with La Liga’s elite, despite it being his rookie season in the top flight.
The 21-year-old has directly participated in eight goals (3 goals, 5 assists) in 2,245 minutes of action.
The Disciplinary Committee of La Liga has suspended the Getafe player for three matches — one for his tackle on Jofre and two additional games for his reaction to the red card.
Uche was not available for selection in Getafe's midweek fixture against Real Madrid and will also miss the upcoming matches against Rayo Vallecano and Umar Sadiq's Valencia.
He was named in the Super Eagles' provisional squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda's Wasps and Zimbabwe's Warriors.
