Galatasaray insider: Chelsea, Barcelona or PSG more likely than Man Utd to sign Osimhen
Published: May 01, 2025
Galatasaray insider Emre Kaplan has suggested that Chelsea, Barcelona, or Paris Saint-Germain are more likely destinations for Victor Osimhen than Manchester United in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has been in sensational form since his arrival, drawing attention from several European giants, including Manchester United, who are reportedly in search of a proven striker after underwhelming seasons from Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
However, Kaplan, speaking on A Spor and as reported by habersarikirmizi, downplayed United's chances of signing the Nigerian international.
"I don't think he will go to Manchester United, but Chelsea has a special importance for Osimhen," Kaplan said, hinting at a longstanding admiration between the player and the London club.
He further explained that Osimhen is more inclined toward clubs with a clearer path to UEFA Champions League success.
"If teams like Chelsea, whose dream is to go to the Champions League final, or Barcelona or PSG want him, there is nothing to do."
Although Osimhen has publicly stated his intention to leave Galatasaray this summer, Kaplan left the door slightly for a potential stay.
"For Osimhen to stay, Galatasaray needs to be in the Champions League," he said, emphasizing the striker's desire to compete at the highest level.
The 26-year-old has delivered standout performances this season, scoring 31 goals and providing eight assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.
He remains instrumental in Galatasaray's quest for a domestic double and could yet break club scoring records before the season concludes.
