Forward who shares the same agent as five Super Eagles players confirms Chelsea departure
Published: June 03, 2025
England international Jadon Sancho has taken to social media to confirm his departure from UEFA Conference League winners Chelsea.
Sancho is looked after by Nigerian agent Emeka Obasi, who also handles the affairs of five Super Eagles players in the shape of Ola Aina, Terem Moffi, Josh Maja, Joe Aribo and Alex Iwobi.
The forward joined the Blues in August 2024 on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy included in the deal.
Chelsea have decided not to use their obligation to buy him for a fee of 25 million pounds although it was thought he would be joining the Blues on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
In the loan contact Sancho signed with Chelsea, there is a clause that says the Londoners can pay five million pounds to get out of that obligation.
The reason the winger is going back to Manchester United is that the Blues were not able to agree personal terms with Sancho, who is reportedly earning £300,000 per week.
The Red Devils paid half of his wages during his loan spell at Chelsea, who were not prepared to pay him the kind of money he was earning at United.
Although Sancho is returning to his parent club Manchester United, he does not have a future at Old Trafford and is expected to leave the club before the close of the summer transfer window.
"Grateful for the experience. Big love to everyone at Chelsea who made me feel at home — teammates, staff and the fans," Sancho said on X.
“Wishing the club all the best moving forward. Truly grateful, Thank you Blues."
Sancho made forty-one appearances for Chelsea, scoring five goals and producing ten assists.
