Anderlecht, Antwerp join Chelsea in race for youngest Flying Eagles outfield player at U20 WC

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that Belgian Jupiler Pro League clubs Anderlecht and Royal Antwerp have joined English Premier League giants Chelsea in the race to sign Flying Eagles midfielder Abduljelil Kamaldeen.

Born on September 9, 2009, Kamaldeen is the youngest outfield player representing Nigeria at the ongoing tournament in Chile, only 42 days older than goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt.

Kamaldeen first came into the spotlight at the WAFU Zone B U20 Boys Cup in Ghana, where he scored in Nigeria’s 4-1 victory over Benin and delivered strong performances against Niger and Ivory Coast en route to the final.

His displays earned him a call-up to the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile, where he caught the eye in Nigeria’s opening match against Norway.

The Kwara Football Academy wonderkid was introduced in the final 12 minutes of the Flying Eagles’ 1-0 defeat, replacing Salihu Nasiru.

Despite the loss, Kamaldeen injected energy, creativity, and urgency into Nigeria’s midfield, helping the team sustain pressure as they searched for an equalizer.

Scouts from Anderlecht and Royal Antwerp are expected to be at the Estadio Fiscal de Talca, venue of Nigeria's second group game against Saudi Arabia, to monitor and assess the performance of the young midfielder.

Meanwhile, Kamaldeen will be hoping for a chance to start, as he looks to impress and help Nigeria secure a vital win to revive their hopes of progressing to the knockout stage of the tournament.
