SODIQ SALIU Begins Tests With Standard Liege
Published: July 10, 2012
36 Lions Academy midfielder Sodiq Saliu has arrived Belgium to begin tests with Standard Liege. The 17-year-old could join his friend and compatriot Imoh Ezekiel at the 10-time Belgium champions.
It would be recalled that Ezekiel initially joined Standard on loan in the winter transfer market. At the end of the season, he was offered a permanent contract by the club's management.
Saliu will train with the Under 21 squad of Standard Liege for several months, and will be signed on a permanent basis if he impresses during that spell.
Standard Liege are one of the traditional sides in Belgium. They have won 21 titles since the inception of the club in 1898.
