Published: October 03, 2012
A plethora of clubs based in Portugal, Romania and Turkey are eyeing the 19 - year -old Nigerian midfielder James Oluranti dubbed the 'New Joel Obi', Hasan Egilmez the player's agent has informed allnigeriasoccer.com.
FC Shakhtar Donetsk had invited Oluranti for trials last month. After the player's assessment, the Ukrainian champions failed to agree financial terms with his representative, and negotiations have been halted until December.
''James Oluranti is still training with Shakhtar Donetsk. And they are really impressed with him, but we did not agree on the monetary aspect of the contract which was offered.
''We also need to decide where he can play regularly in the first team and James may be too young to break into the first team of Shakhtar Donetsk, which is full of established international players. We are considering other options,''Hasan Egilmez revealed to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Sporting Braga, Dinamo Bucharest, Rapid Bucharest, Karabükspor and Akhisar Belediyespor are keeping tabs on Oluranti's situation, and if he is not offered a contract by Miners, the clubs will move for the former 36 Lions Academy ace.
