Saudi club Al-Tai release eye-catching video to announce signing of Super Eagles striker Simy

Saudi First Division side Al-Tai have confirmed the signing of former Super Eagles striker Simy Nwankwo, unveiling the Nigerian forward with an eye-catching video posted on the club’s official channel.

The club accompanied the announcement with the caption, “one by one and the rest on the field,” as Nwankwo was presented as their latest addition.

The 34-year-old joins Al-Tai after a prolific 2025/26 campaign with Al Orobah, where he established himself as one of the division’s most productive forwards.

Nwankwo finished the season as the Saudi First Division’s joint-top scorer after scoring 27 goals in 27 league appearances.

He also registered four assists, taking his total goal contributions to 31.

One of his most memorable displays came against his new club in January, when he scored all three goals in Al Orobah’s 3-1 away victory over Al-Tai.

Nwankwo joined Al Orobah in September 2025 after leaving Italian club Salernitana, beginning his spell in Saudi Arabia with a campaign that yielded an impressive return in front of goal.

The striker has previously played for clubs in Italy and Portugal and was part of Nigeria’s squad at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

His move to Al-Tai represents a fresh chapter in Saudi Arabia, with the experienced forward expected to bring his goalscoring ability and experience to his new club.

After his outstanding campaign with Al Orobah, Nwankwo will now look to replicate his prolific form in Al-Tai colours.
