Super Eagles strikerTolu Arokodare has been left out of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ squad for their pre-season training camp in Portugal as uncertainty continues to surround his future at the club.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth revealed that the Nigeria international was not included in Wolves’ travelling group, with the club currently considering offers from interested teams during the summer transfer window.
Arokodare has attracted attention from several European clubs following his impressive performances, with Italian side Fiorentina among the teams pushing to secure his signature.
Wolves reportedly rejected an initial proposal from Fiorentina, while Turkish club Trabzonspor also submitted an offer for the forward.
However, Trabzonspor’s attempt appears to have suffered a setback after Arokodare ruled himself out of a move to the Turkish outfit.
Fiorentina, meanwhile, are expected to return with an improved bid as they continue their pursuit of the Nigeria international.
The 25-year-old striker joined Wolves after making a strong impact during his time at Belgian club Genk, where he established himself as one of the league’s most productive attackers.
His performances earned him recognition at international level, with the forward becoming part of Nigeria’s Super Eagles setup.
Wolves’ decision to exclude Arokodare from their Portugal training camp has increased speculation over whether the club are preparing for his departure or simply managing the situation while negotiations continue with interested parties.
With Fiorentina reportedly ready to improve their proposal and other clubs monitoring developments, Arokodare’s future is expected to remain one of the talking points of the transfer window.
