Promising Nigeria-eligible centre-back Chetam Ezenwata has taken to social media to announce that his time at Charlton Athletic has come to an end.
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that the left-footed defender has already agreed terms with a new club, with an announcement imminent.
An England U16 international, Ezenwata made his debut for the Young Lions in a friendly against the Netherlands last December, and he's also eligible to represent Cameroon through his mother.
He is the younger brother of prolific Chelsea youth-team striker Chizaram Ezenwata, who is on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation and was invited to a Flying Eagles training camp in 2025.
Chetam was the recipient of the 2026 Steve Clarke Trophy, an annual award recognising outstanding progress at U16 level.
The defender is moving on to pastures new after spending the last five years at the Addicks Academy.
Chetam enjoyed an excellent 2025-26 season, featuring primarily for the U18s during his final campaign as a schoolboy.
He is now set to join a new club despite signing a two-year scholarship deal with Charlton Athletic ahead of the new season.
Chetam stands out for his strength in one-on-one situations, his ability to drive forward with the ball and his range of passing to wingers on both flanks.
