Maccabi Netanya Join Race For In - Demand Striker, Tony Nwakaeme
Published: May 27, 2014
Israeli Premier League newcomers Maccabi Netanya have joined the race for in - demand attacker Anthony Nwakaeme.
One.co.il says negotiations between Hapoel Raanana, who own the economic rights of the Nigerian, and Ironi Kiryat Shmona for the player were unsuccessful, and this has opened the door for other clubs interested in his acquisition.
High level talks are currently taking place between Maccabi Netanya and Nwakaeme’s camp, with the forward expected to append his signature to a contract if an agreement is reached between the parties.
Previously, the dependable striker was courted by Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Beer Sheva.
Despite netting 6 times for modest Hapoel Raanana in the Premier League, Tony is a wanted man as teams believe he is capable of delivering more goals for a bigger team.
He is still under contract with Hapoel Raanana until the summer of 2016.
