Hull City Coach Praises Two Nigerian Right-Backs : They Have Been Outstanding
Published: April 12, 2018
Speaking ahead of Hull City's Championship clash against Sheffield Wednesday, coach Nigel Adkins says Chelsea loanees Ola Aina and Fikayo Tomori have been outstanding at right-back in recent matches.
The England U21 international has played 16 games at right-back since joining the Tigers, while Super Eagles star Aina has appeared in 22 matches in that position.
Three Nigerians would have been competing for one right-back spot assuming Moses Odubajo, the club's first-choice right back two years ago and Nigerian Federation's top target for that position, was in top-top condition.
'' Fikayo Tomori came in at right back on Tuesday and I thought he was outstanding, as he was against Wolves a week earlier,'' Adkins told Hull City's official website.
''Ola has been outstanding in that position, too, but we gave him a rest on Tuesday.
''With Michael Hector as well, we’ve seen our Chelsea trio develop over the months which is pleasing. Their concentration levels have improved and we can see the talent and the ability that each of them has.''
Hull City have won their last two matches in the Championship, scoring an impressive nine goals and conceding none.
