Unai Emery Names Two Arsenal Players Who Want Iwobi Picked In Starting Line-Up
Published: February 28, 2019Arsenal coach Unai Emery has revealed two left-footed players in his squad, Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac, want Alex Iwobi to be named in the starting line-up for every game.
The Nigeria international, who has started 16 out of 28 matches in the Premier League this season, has often been made the scapegoat by a section of the fans when things are not working out for the Gunners but Emery has insisted the winger is an important player in the squad.
''When I ask Nacho Monreal and Send Kolasinac who is the player who you feel better on the pitch when he is playing, they say to us: Iwobi," said Emery, according to The Independent
"It is because Iwobi can open space on the overlap for them.
"So I think Iwobi is giving a lot for us. We want to play and we want to create our philosophy and I think for that Iwobi is important.

''But he needs to carry on improving and he knows that the situation can still improve.''
Iwobi passed a fitness test ahead of Wednesday's 5-1 rout of Bournemouth and replaced Kolašinac 11 minutes after the restart.
