Slavia Prague striker Olayinka to undergo late fitness test before Glasgow Rangers clash
Published: March 17, 2021Slavia Prague manager Jindrich Trpisovsky has confirmed that Peter Olayinka will undergo a late fitness test before their Europa League encounter with Scottish champions Glasgow Rangers at Ibrox Stadium on Thursday night.
The Nigeria international picked up an injury during the first leg last week and missed the league game against Mladá Boleslav on Sunday.
Olayinka is with the Slavia Prague squad in Glasgow and was pictured training with the rest of his teammates in their final workout on Wednesday.
On Olayinka's injury, Trpisovsky told reporters at the pre-match press conference : "We hope it will be good. He joined us for the training yesterday and we will see after the training today.
"It's about his own feeling if he stands the pain. We believe he will be prepared as he is an important player for us.
"We will decide tomorrow morning."
Olayinka has been key for Slavia Prague in Europe this season, contributing to five goals (3 goals, 2 assists) in ten matches.
The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw when Nicolae Stanciu and Filip Helander were on target for Slavia and Rangers respectively.
