'An immeasurable talent' - Bologna Technical Director Sabatini tips Osimhen to play at highest level
Published: March 18, 2021Bologna Technical Director Walter Sabatini is backing Victor Osimhen to play at the highest level of European football provided that he remains injury-free.
Signed from Lille for a club record fee of 70 million euros last summer, the Napoli striker has struggled in his first season in Italy as a result of fitness issues.
Osimhen developed a reputation as a top center forward while at Lille, scoring 18 goals in 38 matches, but has managed three in 18 matches at Napoli.
The Ultimate Strikers product was linked with possible moves to the Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga before his switch to Napoli, and Sabatini believes it's only a matter of time before he takes European football by storm.
Speaking to Radio Punto Nuovo via 90min, Sabatini said : "Osimhen is an immeasurable talent , a player who, if he is lucky and will not have injuries or other events related to situations such as injuries, will express himself at the highest European levels".
Osimhen is expected to be involved for Napoli when they take on Roma on Sunday, his last game before reporting for international duty in Lagos next week.
